HOW PAINFUL IS IT TO HAVE A TOOTH EXTRACTED? I AM VERY DENTAL PHOBIC!!?

I had 4 removed at the same time. Insurance would only pay for injections to numb the area...and I had a lot of them. I didn't feel anything above my neck for about 4 hours after the fact. Once that wore off, I had pain meds to take, but didn't need to cause I had no pain. Other then that...I ate mashed potatoes for 2 weeks.
