How to make a man actually understand??!?

im beginning to think that my bf just plain ignores everything i say! He is extraordinarily insecure and apparently whenever i say anything, or example when he was filling his car with coolant i said ''i don't think your supposed to mix 2 different coolants together'', he says that i think he's an idiot and i love insulting him.. And whenever he asks me a quest about anything he won't believe my answer!! He actually goes and asks other people to confirm what i said,which after enough times makes me feel like an idiot! He speaks down to me and drives me up the wall until i can't take anymore and so i snap and he sits there and says that HE is retaliating! He just blatantly refuses to acknowledge the things he does and blames it on me.. Ive tried explaining this to him in every possible way but he doesn't listen he just walks away and says that i'm annoying and getting on his nerves! How can i make him wake up to himself and see what he's doing to me? Im literally on the verge of breaking up with him and believe it or not i don't want to have to leave because i do love him but i need to know how to make him listen and accept responsibility for his actions!
