Is it right for us to have on the prosecutor's side than to get a attorney.?

My youngest brother met an accident and died last june 2006,we filed a case against the accused person,until now the cased is still on hearing,we did'nt hire a attorney for us to defend,all we have is a prosecutor who is handling the case,is justice worth fighting for in this situation?Please help
