How intelligent and "personable" are cats?

Cats are very intelligent and have HUGE personalities, my cat Jasmine that we had for 16 years had so much of a personality, she even had different meows for different things, like if we came home she would be waiting just to say hey, and she had another meow for im hungry, etc. They come when you call them, and meow as if to say, "yes?" Cats are very smart and each one is different, but as far as personality, I say its way more than dogs. Dogs can have personalities but really its usually just one: VERY EXCITED. At least cats have different moods.
