Questions about Found poems?

There aren't rules as such but to be a good poem, a found poem needs to be what all good poems are; "the best words in the best order" and for most of us there has to be some meaning that makes us glad we read it. I agree with your evaluation of the one from the weather station. The best book I know of on writing poetry of any kind is Ted Kooser's, The Poetry Home Repair Manual. The one you quoted, in my opinion, fails because it neither reveals anything of significance nor touchs something we recognize as such. It would have been good if it were just a funny piece but fails at that as well. I say that because I don't mean to say that every poem has to have a serious meaning but I do think, to be a good poem, it has to touch something in the reader whether it's the tear ducts or the funny bone.
