Is duality of citizenship accepted widely in the Philippines jurisprudence?
Dual citizenship as we know of is accepted by the US Federal government. This should not also be the policy of the Philippines government. There are many Philippines cabinet member who possess dual citizenship. One of them if I am not mistaken is Mr. Jocjoc Bolante, after his fertilizer scam was expose run immediately to the US and evade an arrest. Some Filipinos are just using this dual citizenship as a gateway or a vortex to do bad things inside the Philippines and when things are now revealed to the naked eye disappear in an instance to the US. I do not think we have extradition treaty between the US and the Philippines to bring back people like Bolante. Jocjoc is just one among the number of Filipinos possessing dual citizenship, some are even elected as congressman or even senators. We should stop hiring or giving Filipino with dual citizenship sensitive jobs in the cabinet or in the government itself. For me, how can one Filipino call himself/herself a Filipino in the true sense of the word when he/she possesses a valid US citizenship in the first place. Isn't it he/she sworn an allegiance to the American flag to the rules of being an American? Probably the only Filipino are the features brown color, small in height and having a flat nose but due to cosmetic enhancement and beauty clinics now a days, this is a thing of the past. Filipinos like to look more Americans than being a Filipino those who are presently in the US is it not? Just look at our young girls and boys, they sport different hair color tone, smooth fair complexion etc...they do not like brown color or having flat nose and embrace the American dream. Do you accept such people working for the Philippines government? What do you think?
