Vasectomy problems?

My husband had a vasectomy about a month ago. He is still experiencing some pain on his right side. He has had it since the procedure and he has went back to the doctor for the pain. He said everything was looking good and the only thing he could think that would be causing the pain was an infection. He took the antibiotics and it started to feel better but after the medicine ran out it stopped getting better. It hasn't gotten any worse, but he still has pain. It hurts to move too quickly and the right side seems to be very irritated. He says its probably just because he is a slow healer. Should he go see a doctor or should he wait until he is suppose to go back to give his sample? I feel it could be something bad, but I can't get him to go.
